SEILBAHN
One activity we definitely recommend in this town is the cable car ride. The beautiful view where the Rhine River meets the old town brings back peaceful memories. Once you reach the top, the Niederwald Monument and the view from its balcony will make you say, “I’m so glad I’m here.” There’s also a small café and restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

NIEDERWALD MONUMENT
This monument was built to commemorate the founding of the German Empire after the wars between Germany and France in 1871. Standing 38 meters tall, the monument was created based on a design by Johannes Schilling from Dresden. The construction of the monument was funded through public donations. The main figure of the monument is Germania, holding the imperial crown in her right hand and the imperial sword in her left. Since 2002, the Niederwald Monument has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley.

DROSSELGASSE
This street, also known as “drinking street” is lined with bars, restaurants, and shops selling handmade souvenirs. However, since this is a tourist town, you may find it difficult to take photos during busy times.

WINZEREXPRESS
Operating since 1978, this nostalgic train attracts the attention of all tourists as it winds through narrow roads. It’s impossible not to admire the beauty of the romantic Rhine Valley and the lush vineyards during this journey. To see the town’s beauty from a different perspective, we recommend you experience this. The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes.

HAFENPARK-WELTERBEGARTEN
This park boasts more than 40 different types of trees and offers a stunning view of the Rhine River. Many festivals, such as street food events, are held in this area. You can take a walk along the Rhine River in this park or enjoy the scenery while your child plays. A note to add: live music starts in June.

RHEINSTEIN CASTLE
Built around the 1300s, this castle holds strategic importance due to its location on the banks of the Rhine River. It is the largest castle in the Middle Rhine Valley, located between Koblenz and Bingen.
BRÖMSERBURG CASTLE – RHEINGAU WINE MUSEUM
This is believed to be the first stone castle in the Rhine Valley. In earlier times, it served to protect ferries traveling to Bingen and Ganerbenburg. Since 1950, the Rheingau Wine Museum has been housed within its walls. The museum holds many historical artifacts, such as wine and drinking cups, wine cellars, grape growers, and wine producers. Wine lovers will be fascinated by the world’s oldest wine collections dating back to the 12th century. 😊

SIEGFRIED'S MECHANICAL MUSIC CABINET
This museum, home to over 400 mechanical musical instruments, is located just above Drosselgasse. Guided tours are available in 9 different languages.
